Chelseas football club was founded over 100 years ago now in 1905. The co-founders of Chelsea Football Club were Gus Mears and Joseph Mears. The club gets its name from Chelchehithe, Anglo-Saxon for chalk and landing place, corrupted by the 16th century to the more familiar Chelsey. Cyningholt, meaning kingswood, is the modern Kensal previously the outlying portion of Chelsea. I have created this site in hope of sharing my love for the club of Chelsea.
